Containers basically come in four grades:
1) Scrap metal or junk (which many dealers fix and sell as wind and water tight).
2) Wind and water tight (a container with heavy rust, heavy dents, and doors can be tough to open, could have a weak floor and small leaks) many dealers will try to tell you this is cargo worthy, these containers could not be certified as cargo worthy due to some type of issue with the container.
3) Grade A cargo worthy (sometimes called Grade A) these containers have doors that open properly with light to medium rust and dents with plenty of life left in them.
4) One trip or new these containers have been loaded overseas with cargo, unloaded here and then immediately sold. They look like new containers and could have small dents or scratches

20ft Shipping Container
60ft Straight Line Clearance: This applies to roads leading to the drop site as well as at the drop site itself. With a 20ft shipping container cargo, our truck and trailer will require at least 60ft straight line clearance to make a turn.
14ft Vertical Clearance on the Road: Roadways leading to the drop-off site should be free of any overhanging obstacles with a minimum of 14ft vertical clearance at all times.
12-14ft Width Clearance.

40ft Shipping Container
100ft Straight Line Clearance: A minimum of 100ft straight line clearance is required at all times during the delivery of a 40ft shipping container.
14ft Vertical Clearance on the Road: This includes all sections of road leading to and at the drop-off location.
12-14ft Width Clearance.
